June 3 – Global Exhibitions Day: Celebrating Those Who Are Shaping the Future Today

03 June 2026
Exactly ten years ago, in June 2016, the exhibition industry gained its own official holiday – Global Exhibitions Day (GED). The initiative was proposed by our compatriot Sergey Alekseev, First Vice President of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF), and was supported by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI). For an entire decade now, exhibition professionals around the world have been celebrating this special day.

“We are convinced that exhibitions are about much more than delivering immediate results. Exhibitions drive market development, foster face-to-face knowledge exchange, and generate the energy that sparks new projects and ideas. They are where the future of an industry takes shape. That is why exhibitions remain relevant under any circumstances: the future does not wait. And that is why exhibitions have always been, and will continue to be, the primary meeting place for those who think one step ahead,” comments Alexander Shtalenkov, CEO of MVK.

On Global Exhibitions Day, we would like to thank everyone who, together with event teams, contributes to building the industries of tomorrow: exhibitors, visitors, partners, and experts. Thanks to you, exhibitions continue to serve as a true platform for dialogue, collaboration, and breakthrough solutions.

Keep participating, sharing your plans and ambitions, and striving for new achievements. We wish you every success!
